Brian Flack


Brian Flack has been the director for TC since it's founding in 2004. TC started as a Scholastic Open Unit and has since competed in the Independent Open division. During that time, TC became an Independent Open Medalist and an Independent World Finalist. Brian currently serves as Percussion Coordinator at Tates Creek High School as well as percussion instructor for several middle schools in the Lexington area. He has performed with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps and has served as Percussion Caption Head for the University of Kentucky Drumline during the 1998 season.

Aaron Farris

Ensemble Coordinator

Aaron Farris, a native of Richmond, Kentucky, graduated from The University of Kentucky with B.A. In Human Communications Studies.  He has been an active performer and educator in the marching arts for the past 10 years.

Aaron is currently in his second year as Ensemble Coordinator for Tates Creek Indoor Ensemble. In this position, he serves a key role as an administrator, connecting all communication and logistics throughout the group.

As an educator, he develops the ensemble's pedagogies and musical approaches. This is his third year managing the battery percussion at Triple Crown.

In addition, he serves as Percussion Director at Garrard County High School in Lancaster, Kentucky.  This position has afforded him the opportunity to be involved with the program as a designer and writer for eight years. Garrard County has made Kentucky State Finals every year since his hiring. Aaron also assisted the program to it's first State Championship in 2014.

As a performer, Aaron started his independent marching career as a bass drummer with Tates Creek Independent Ensemble (2010). He then continued his marching career with the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps, (2011, 2012, 2013) and   Rhythm X Inc. (2012, 2013, WGI 1st Place ).  Aaron has also spent time performing with numerous music ensembles with The University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University.

 Aaron has spent the past five summer as a bass technician. This includes three years with the Sacramento Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps (2014,2015, 2016) and two years with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps (2017, 2018). He also serves as a consultant for The University of Cincinnati Drumline. 

When Aaron is not spending time with the Marching Arts, he is teaching lessons in his percussion studio or playing music semi-professionally around the Kentucky Tri-State area.

Justin Evans


Justin hails from southwest West Virginia, being a member of TC in 2015-2016 and returning to administration in 2017. Justin is heavily involved in the marching arts in West Virginia; consulting and arranging for various programs in the state and outside of the state. He is also a adjudicator for the WVMEA local circuit. Justin is also a battery consultant for the OIPA Independent A group, Kanawha Knights Indoor based out of Charleston, WV. 

Justin is currently enrolled in at Marshall University as a graduate and is teaching general courses in Communication Studies. 

In his free time, Justin loves to hike, spend time with his cat Lucas. Justin is excited to return for his third year at Triple Crown as a administrator, and his first year as a technician!


Shelby Hudson


Shelby Hudson is a photographer originally from the northern panhandle of WV,  but now calls Huntington, West Virginia, her home. She is currently a BFA in design student at Marshall University, and other than design, photography is one of her many pastimes as well as a prospective career. This past year she has built her portfolio through live music photography, as well as photographing the Marshall University Marching Thunder and school projects. Her favorite pastime, other than photography, would have to be spending time with her cats and attending local concerts. Her dream career is to make a living as a live concert photographer, or to be creative director at Google. 

Isabel Jasperse


Isabel is a third-year Electronic Media student at the University of Cincinnati. She is originally from southeastern West Virginia and spent 4 years marching quads in the Greenbrier East High School Spartan Band. Isabel also spent two years playing drumset in the front ensemble of the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Bands. Isabel is very passionate about marching arts and photography, and loves taking photos and video of local ensembles. She has created videos for Cincinnati Tradition Drum & Bugle Corps and photographed the UC Bearcat Bands. She also recently traveled to Williamsport, PA with Box 5 Media to create content for the 2018 DCA World Championships. Isabel is extremely excited to work with Triple Crown this season! When she isn’t behind a camera, Isabel loves playing video games, watching movies, and petting cats!
